Took my nephew fishing yesterday. We passed by two 14 year olds in waders just like us. Talked to them for a minute after we heard one of them screaming in joy after landing a salmon. They went down river and we went up river. 10 minutes later we discovered two backpacks.
Two years ago I posted these first four pics below about a backpack I found abandoned with lego and a tablet at 78% battery. Cops confirmed no missing child report and in the 1.5 hours I was there, no sign of anyone else. So that will always be a mystery. Anyway, we opened these new backpacks for evidence and it turns out they were from those two teens so we zipped them back up. Considering that there are a few vagrants that sometimes sleep nearby, they sure are very trusting. I mean, I'm sure I might have been that naive at that age too. Anyway, we did see them a half hour later exiting the river at the same point as us.
When my nephew landed the bigger fish below, he got blasted by man paste. Welcome to the club. That's when you've officially been initiated into the river salmon angler's club.
Getting colder, we have a risk of frost the next three mornings, with lows of 1 to 3. Normally our first freeze is around Remembrance Day. The Great Lakes have protected us the last two nights, you can see the cold wrapping around south of the lakes this morning
Just about time to put the gardens to bed. This is the latest I've ever had cucumbers.

Good chance Toronto joins the freeze list sometime between Saturday and Tuesday, with forecast lows from 0 to 2. The lake might save us with some warm air.
Currently in a seasonal or slightly below seasonal pattern. The air is quite cool and crisp. A high of 12 with a chance of showers later today, currently all sunshine. Lots of sun in the forecast, especially Sunday and Monday
