Incredible captures of Calgary. Also loving how Edmonton is as a city. Holds just as much promise as Calgary IMO.

We’re actually at 1.5 million now. Had a high of almost 1.6 in 2017 but now it’s 1,521,000. I think that must be due to the recession.

Winnipeg really connects with me and it is not because it mirrors Edmonton in many ways. Great spot.

The top pic of Calgary is one of the better angles as it doesn't show the "Bow's" width as it does from other angles!

That Montreal aerial is awesome and will only get denser with time.

Like most aerials I did not find that one flattering at all. when taken from the wrong angle you lose the density.

You lose the skyscraper density, but you get the "plex" density.
I know it's a "skyline" thread, but I'm always amazed when I see one of these ; they somehow remind me of Philadelphia.

Here's hoping Edmonton lives up to it's potential! it's not as centralized as Calgary, so I doubt the core will ever be as big or dense, but that should give Edmonton more time to plan their center city.

Any more tall towers planned in the west end of Oliver? would love to see some company for the Pearl! Would make Edmonton's skyline more impressive from the south as well.

I'm confused now by these long distance TO shots. The first one from Bronte in Oakville, as someone mentioned, makes it look like many of the highrises are west of DT when in fact they are well north of DT. An optical illusion. Plus it looked almost Manhattanesque as viewed from Jersey.

The above pic was taken from much farther away from Sam Lawrence Park in Hamilton (in between Jolley Cut, one of my favourite roads) and yet the skyline looks literally bigger in person than the Burlington Skyway and lift bridge.

Another optical illusion, some kind of freaky camera filter or a photoshop job?

Telephoto lens probably. I don't know much about photography but I believe it provides the magnification on distant shots that you see here.

It is strange because as the crow fly's the angle is almost exactly the same between the two. This is 59.54km away. The other was 38.62km away. The closer one is lower down so you lose a bit of height from the skyline but it has a wider angle showing part of Mississauga
