If you want to know how to do a travel video, watch the Seoul time lapse video. Just amazing images shown to a beautiful powerful score.
I tought I was alone to think that until I see your message. Glad to know I'm not crazy.

The pictures & the music could speak themselves very well.

Haha, I am also glad to see that I am not alone

The video rocks if you put it on mute and play some nice classical orchestral music overtop, or techno, or sounds of nature, or whatever tickles your fancy.

I actually started cringing when I heard the narration. It sounds as if some pretentious bleeding heart focus group from SFU wrote it.

here is the Seoul video (which IMO is the gold standard of travel promotional videos, every time I see it I want to go to Seoul).

Talking about varied landscapes, does anyone remember this CBC/Radio-Canada intro theme? I was waiting for it every Saturday morning back in the days... Wow. What a song!

I hate to and I do like Seoul, but that video was one big YAWN. 360p was unacceptable even back in 2011 and it seemed like the video never really "started". Sorry Metro.

I remember it well, along with an older video sign-off that ended with Greg Joy's silver medal high jump at the Montreal Olympics and a young child embracing a baby - lots of wonderful images (including a shot of Old Order Mennonites clopping along in their horse and buggy, which I appreciated). Same symphonic version of "Oh Canada", which remains my favourite.

Did not know about Bon Echo Provincial Park. Definitely going there next spring. With friends, we used to go to Sandbanks every year. Hell, it's so hard to make a reservation! The place is simply amazing for camping and beaches. And the surrounding small towns are jewels, with very welcoming people (Picton for example).

As for my province, I think that Quebec landscapes are generally smooth... Compared to the dramatic ones you can see in BC or Alberta. One of their most interesting features is probably the human settlements that seem to have grown in harmony with the environment.

Some Quebec cultural landscapes...

The old fort Chambly, in the city of Chambly, near the Richelieu river (Montérégie). The region's nickname is "Vallée-des-Forts", litteraly "valley of the forts"... you understand why.

Beautiful.

In France they have the Les Plus Beaux Villages de France organization, and like a lot of French designations of quality, they don't mess around. Every town that qualifies has this seal proudly emblazoned on their entrance sign as you drive in, and they really are spectacular. I looked around and Quebec has a similar thing, but their criteria seems to be much more diluted and the villages that get this designation are very hit and miss. The villages you posted deserve to be designated, though.

Have to agree. Repetitious and very random.
