I'll bump the conversation back to projects courtesy of lots of nice aerials from @mburrrrr (UrbanToronto).

CIBC SQUARE | 241.39m | 50s | Hines | WilkinsonEyre l Phase 2 u/c

Nice angle on the original bank towers of the financial district on the left (Scotia, BMO, Commerce Court, TD Centre and RBC)… and 3 new bank towers on the right (TD Terrace, CIBC Square 2 u/c and CIBC Square 1 complete).

Looks to be slightly taller then the CIBC Tower now so it's around 150m up.

Close to another floor pour just 5 days after the previous floor. Maybe receivership is the key to accelerating construction ;-).

Approval recommended to Council for height increases of One Yonge:

https://www.toronto.ca/legdocs/mmis/...ile-240447.pdf

This brings the current phase up to 344m / 1,131ft, and the second phase up to 306m / 1,004ft.

It would also make it the tallest approved building in Toronto.

Wouldn't Forma be approved considering phase 1 is excavating?

That was an unexpected surprise. Posted by Mburrr on urbantoronto.ca Oct 31st, glass is starting to cover the podium now. I'm assuming they'd like to finish tho podium levels of both these towers as soon as possible to get the retail component up and running while construction goes on above it.

Forma Phase 1 (excavation) is not a supertall but Phase 2 across the street will be 308 metres.

SkyTower actually got a bonus increase of .32 metres lol. Exact heights are below:

A 100 storey+ tower for Canada, and 2 super-talls on the same block is kinda cool for admitted height geeks (incl moi).

SkyTower @ 344.9 metres (105 storeys)

Phase 3 @ 306.8 metres (92 storeys)

SkyTower and Phase 3 will dwarf CIBC Square 1.

UT

SkyTower and Phase 3 in the centre, with the 3 towers of Sugar Wharf Phase 2 (site demo/heritage retention) just to the right.

Exciting times for skyscraper aficionados in Toronto. We shouldn't be too long in waiting for a crane at Forma. I wish One Yonge Tower 3 would get underway soon. Sugar Wharf 2 might be some time off yet. Concord Sky is still dragging forward. I wonder when there will be some movement on the massive developments at Humber Bay and SW Yonge/Eglinton.

At the very least get the podium out of the way.

I don't think Caltrane ten years ago would have believed that there would be two and a half supertalls under construction at one time.

It feels everyday I come across another grim headline on developers pulling the plug on new starts. One was 16,000 units put on hold. Another was Riocan pulling the plug on all new starts. I wouldn't wager for any mega development spinning up by mid summer.

**edit

oops. 14,000.

I guess that's it for the lights. Meh. It looks half finished. At the very least continue the light bars down the rest of the tower increasing the separations.

I find twinkling and slow colour changes cheezy. I'm surprised that I like this and that's whether it's static or dynamic.

Yeah half finished is a good way of describing it. Usually the lighting effects are either strictly at the top and limited to a crown or roof element or they stop at a logical point like a set up or something. But to just stop seemingly randomly is... an interesting choice.

Nice to see the height increase on One Yonge and The One. The diagrams really give a good example of how tall they will be.

Will have to post some pictures of 160 Front and CIBC square once I sort through them all.
