Especially since re opening the Plains (more realistically a new hospital by SIAST) has been constantly looked at internally since like 2005.

The gov't closed the Plains, but they built a brand new hospital in Saskatoon (City) but could not afford to add a parkade in Regina. All of Saskatoon's hospitals have parkades. Thank you former premier Roy!

While I disagree with austerity economics, Roy Romanow inherited a dire financial situation from the PCs (which is what prompted the cutting of public services). Then when the boom hit, the PCs (now Sask Party) won again, and did not reinvest the increased revenue into the public sector that was previously cut due to their historical mismanagement of money.

The Sask Party has been in power since 2007, yet you still find a way to blame the NDP? Take some time to educate yourself. As I recall, it was Mr. Romanow who inherited an almost bankrupt province and was forced to make some very tough decisions to turn things around. I also believe it was the NDP who brought in the first balanced budgets in God only knows how long and oversaw the beginning of the provinces most recent economic boom.

Now history repeats itself, the Sask Party has squandered the greatest opportunity this province has ever had. Brad wall resigned in disgrace, unable to leave the legacy he had hoped other than a football stadium.

I am certainly not a fan of today's NDP, they are essentially irrelevant and have been unable to capitalize on any of the huge blunders and Sask Party scandals. Quite frankly, I don't think either party deserves to govern this province.

Saskatchewan needs more people like Roy Romanow and Janice MacKinnon. People with a social conscious and conservative economic values.

BDH has a point. The Glockenspiel has few redeeming qualities. I realize the City feels guilty for destroying it, but they should have just made a $100K donation to the German Club.

I actually kind of like the idea of the Glockenspiel. We have so few things like this anywhere around the city. Statues/Art pieces are one thing (which we could use more of as well), but fountains and other art that actually does something I find much more interesting (and something I check out when travelling too).

It is not particularly visually appealing and the noise is extremely annoying if you work anywhere near it. If you are a tourist or a casual visitor downtown I am sure it is fine. If you actually live or work near it, it is horrible.
