You know what I sometimes always say....the longer the journey, the bigger the reward, the deeper the hole the longer it takes just to reach ground level. I'm not getting any younger so my impatience stems from my desire to be alive when this and all the other projects are at least topped out, because despite my lifelong obsession with skylines, after I'm gone, I might not give a shit.

They're starting to put up rebar. That's a good sign I bet we'll be above ground in the next few months

Are the columns connected to piles that extend beneath the parking garage?

No. The columns extend to a mat slab (about one level thick of solid concrete) that extends under the entire site.

Hard to see in this photo, but the core is just now visible from the other side of the lake.

Looks like one - two more floors of parking before 185 really sets sail above ground.

Nice catch. That thing’s going to surprise us all in a few weeks. All of a sudden and poof it’ll be above ground.

Looks like one or two more weeks until this starts rising above ground. Good to see it's moving relatively quickly.

My only gripe with this building is that it sandwiches in Austin Proper. Proper looks great, and I wish it were in a more prominent space that didn't get blocked by 3/4 sides...

It is peeking above ground level with the core. Getting exciting!

The core is just barely poking up through the trees now. Should have a significant impact in March.
