Did they add a pedestrian bridge under the N.Sask River crossing? I would hope so, at least for future integration.

Saw a photo a while back that showed one similar to the west side crossing.

All the new roads and interchanges will be usable. He says there's still a bit of work to do on the sides, with topsoil and under the bridges, but van der Meer says that won't disrupt traffic flow. Van Der Meer expects it will be open to everyone around 2/3 pm after opening ceremony and the call is made to take down the barricades.
Westbound Yellowhead just before the river and the Broadmoor braided ramp will have traffic disruptions for a few days still, there's no way they'll be done and out of the way by tomorrow afternoon especially in the rain. So 50 zone still on WB YHT.

Heck yes! My pony needs a good trot... I'm gonna be slightly amazed if we don't see an extra-crowded weekend-long traffic pattern on it...

According to the Henday NE website, opens to the public at 4 PM today. There were some earlier conflicting reports that it was opening at 2 PM.

How many crotch Rockets racing.

But seriously. This is a monumental moment for Edmonton and the Capital region.

A major accomplishment in our transportation grid.

drove through most of the new henday/yellowhead bits this weekend, and I'm impressed!

the mega interchange, and the large scale industrial surroundings gives the area a really big city feel

cheers to all the guys and gals that worked so hard to get this open on time

the merge-athon on westbound yellowhead between henday and the river is going to be a very real problem though, 4th bridge lanes in both direction will be needed soon..

interim, a quick cheap fix would be making the exit lane for victoria trail on westbound yellowhead optional instead of mandatory, and push the 3 continuous lanes through to 50th st

Definetly makes it easier to get around the city now. Know a few cyclists that were heading out to set a new segment. Was supposed to go bet sleeping in was more important. Expect to see numours ass hats trying to serve the speed record in their car or crotch rocket. Also expect to see police out in force.

Drove the Henday this morning.

Wow. Gives a person a totally different perspective of Edmonton.

Edmonton seems Huge. A very big city feel.

Radar was everywhere

Didn't really see to many speed demons. Cept a Viper ripped past me doing Mach 1.
