According to a post on Retail Talk & Share, MK Thai Gourmet will be replaced by Casa Latina, opening in the fall.

Casa Latina is a Mexican restaurant based in Saint John. They are apparently opening a second location in the Hub City.

So, from Thai to Mexican food. This will provide some competition to Mexicali Rosa's.

And, interestingly, in the closure notice for MK Thai Gourmet, they cryptically stated that yesterday was their last day in business "in this location," This leaves open the possibility that they may reopen in a new location. As the last line of the notice stated'"stay tuned."

They moved here from Ontario where it was originally I had just assumed they were moving back but it'd be nice if they moved to Granite Drive area

Working Class

one of our top local retailers/businesses in the city. This will do wonders for a street which is "sketchy" feeling. The current location is accessible but I think they get a lot of people who park, shop and leave. They'll get some foot traffic from the market and other downtown businesses now.

Interesting. I wish them well in this location.

The planned west-east road parallel to Main St will run right past here

They mentioned additional space as well at the new location, the barbershop was always an addition that was "crammed in" to make it work but it doesn't have much space.

Cranes Over Downtown Moncton!!!

The large tower crane at the Three Sisters site, and the new medium sized crane at the Seville Properties site on nearby Waterloo Street.

And standing out like a sore thumb, that pesky railway track.

Just a few years ago, nearly all residential buildings were wood-framed. Everything was on a smaller scale. Now, I'm surprised that this building isn't concrete.

If you want to have your say on the Saint George Street Improvement Plan, here is the link to the survey:

https://letschatmoncton.ca/st-george-street-improvement-plan

Be warned that one of the proposed visions (the Saint George Trail) promotes a single one way traffic lane and no on street parking!

I think that's going a little too far..........

The whole "traffic calming/active transportation" thing seems to be getting a little out of hand. It's almost as if planners and traffic engineers are creating designs based on ideology rather than what is practical and functional to serve the needs/wants of the majority.

Confirmed that the building has been sold, I don't know who the new owner is yet, I'm trying to get that information

The plot thickens. A new owner probably means a new vision for the Terminal Plaza complex. Good riddance to the stasis and inertia demonstrated by Crombie.
