I just thought I would share I had a dream that we were getting a new 60 floor mixed hotel res and commercial building. Came out to 840 ft and didn't look that great but it was a new tallest. And ground was to break ground in 2 months lol.

I dream about naked women. Just sayin'. (Although, in all fairness, the odds of either happening are probably similar.)

Odds are far higher that your dream gets fruition. All you have to do is to work at it.

Looking for a partner is like looking for a job. Get the resume together (looks, wit, bucks, miscellaneous talents) and put it out to as many potential employers as possible. Do it electronically via dating services, but, the best way, as always, is networking.

If you want a temporary position, lower your requirements, and, be willing to go to "work" at a moments notice.

Hahaha, nice. But your 30s is like living through a recession - no matter how good the resume is, if there's nothing good out there, there's nothing out there. Of course, a good wave of first-divorces is not unlike a good infusion of foreign capital to bring the economy back.

Also, as with any job, a fake resume only goes so far.

You just have to put more resumes and risk rejection. Wanting to get a job but not working looking for job during hard times never gets you anywhere.

I have post doctoral work in this field..

That is awesome. Would love to hear more on your dissertation. Hopefully it is *not* published online. Fortunately for me, I'm past the age where reproduction is a wise decision. So absent that, I only need the one job. I'll selfishly horde assets for myself and vote against the next generation at every opportunity.

Have we seen these block 162 concepts? Some of the buildings in the first image seem to be dead proposals, so I'm wondering if this is outdated. These are courtesy of klipp architects:

^^^ ya those Block 162 proposals are old, pre-2008.

Speaking of 162 and the proposed City Target, does anyone know any other locations that Target is considering since 162 seems like a pipe dream at this point.

Naked women and doggy doors? Not a good combination apparently.

Seattle is killing it right now, clearly on the way to becoming the next Tier 1 city in the US. I'm very jealous of what Seattle is and what Seattle is becoming, but they have a clear geographic advantage as well as several Fortune 500 companies making huge investments downtown. Hopefully Denver will...well I'm sure we will get plenty of 5-story stick builds. I'm hoping 1750 AMLI follows the path of AMLI Riverfront and City House and really knocks it outta the park.

By building 5-story buildings on prime land that is zoned for 12 and 21-stories, respectively? I kind of understand upper downtown and the whole unlimited height, nothing being built situation but, 12-21 stories is incredibly doable especially right now.

The one on the left has been replaced by a 16-story hotel proposal. The one on the right could happen though.

If we're killin it, guess what our #1 project type is....six-story woodframes! I like them, honestly.

Oh come on, outside of NYC and possibly Chicago or Miami no US city is seeing the development that Seattle has going on right now. Are those stick builds going on in Cap Hill? That doesn't really count, similar to LoHi in Denver but on a much greater scale.

A lot of areas have large waves of them underway....Capitol Hill, South Lake Union, central Ballard, West Seattle Junction, University District, Downtown Redmond, and so on. In SLU's case, much of the reason is large height fees to go highrise. We actively disincentivize highrises basically everywhere, in the few areas they're allowed at all.

We could be in an epic highrise boom, but most of it hasn't broken ground. So it's a pretty big highrise boom. Yes one of the larger ones until you get north of the border.
