Such a pleasure and relief to see a building not so excessively heavy handedly draped in glass. The arches not only give it great dynamism from outside but from the inside looking out too. What a well done tasteful and elegant tower. Hopefully the glass-addicts from Hudson Yards are taking notes for the second phase of that development; also the folks from the Bus Terminal and Penn station projects.

NYC is about textures and varieties and this building a beautiful testament to that balance.

It undergoing a restoration with respect to the upper floors and facade restoration. 500 5th is one of those towers that rose in the early 1930's. Legacy!

That's the beauty of this city that a block or two can have towers that are close to 100 years apart. The old teaching the young. Architectural wisdom? That's the beauty of it all.

The view of this tower while walking down Fifth from 57th is superb! I hope that we get more supertall residential towers to replace some of the shlocky 1950s/60s Emery Roth office towers.
