Although honestly, I'm really quite surprised that people are getting their pants in a knot over these inconsequential bus routes, but when Miller was thinking about mothballing the Sheppard Subway, the same crowd of transit advocates were largely either indiffirent or outright supportive.
But if general ridership is growing, is there some reason to think the ridership won't grow to above 12 people/hour if the routes were maintained?

Considering that's only a rural area I actually think that's pretty cool. To be honest I didn't know it even existed and it certainly outdoes the other small town/rural areas I've lived in or visited!

Considering the TTC has one of the best farebox recovery ratios in the world, I'd say they're getting about as much benefit for their money as we can expect. They should be rewarded with more money, not mindlessly attacked by the Rob Fords of the world.

City Hall station, now re-opened after renovations which brings it up to the same style as the rest of the downtown stations.

Looks great! 'More of an outdoor room with a train in it than a barren city street with a train in it.

Also of note for people who haven't used Calgary Transit recently, is that you can now pay for fare at several of the stations using a credit card (and soon debit as well). Not all of the stations have the new machines yet.

Our smart card is still in the works.

What is with people who have speech impediments always going in for broadcasting to work through their issues? Can't they just go to a speech therapist and get over it privately?

Anyway... good to see the new trains on the tracks. For the best resource in all things transit in Toronto including history, photos, maps, essays...etc go to Transit Toronto found here: http://transit.toronto.on.ca/index.shtml

This page is about the new trains specifically:
http://transit.toronto.on.ca/subway/5511.shtml

It's not an easy site to navigate but you will be amazed at the number of pages it has linked within it and the amount of information you will find.

EDMONTON - The Capital Region Board approved a $10-billion public transit plan Thursday that would vastly expand the area’s LRT service, increase bus routes and build more park-and-ride lots.

Over the next 30 years, the plan sees an LRT station at the north end of St. Albert meeting a Morinville bus, while a Sherwood Park LRT line might connect to downtown Edmonton.

Workers would park in a lot at Highway 15 and Highway 37, then travel to jobs in the Industrial Heartland northeast of Edmonton on transit provided by local employers.

Didn't Vancouver just start taking cards on the Canada Line and still dosen't at all the old expo stations? And the TTC is still cash only. so are there any transit systems in Canada taking bank cards as at station payment?
