Other than the PATH trains, the number 1 line is the only subway line that cuts accross the site. But there will be connections to multiple subway lines at the WTC.

I'm curious about what will happen to all the garbage and debris that will inevitably fall into the water of the footprints. Any one know if there is a filtering system in place to remove the debris?

Quick and dirty. I might add more info to it later. The Hub is on many different levels so no single plan view is going to show everything.

Same area, the PATH hall (mezzanine level) but the views are about 90 degrees apart.

i know that but the current design (referring to the rendering walk through by Brookfield) looks very different. In my opinion the older renders (such as the ones above) look much better. The rendering by brookfield (although realistic) isnt as welcoming to me.

Like this

and this look different

and both of em look different from this

How will the lighting be installed? I don't see any lighting between the ribs of the ceiling?

That's because the Brookfield "walk-through" doesn't really show the PATH access area as much as bypass it (about 20 seconds in). It would be on the left, mostly offscreen, but the video is more centered on making the WFC connector to the right, breezing past the Freedom Tower. Watch the clip again...

^^^ Thanks for posting, Zen - this really brings the overall scheme into focus for me as I watch from the webcam.

I realize that the walk-through doesnt show the whole mezzanine. I was mroe wonderign what the most current version of the mezzanine looks like. There have been allot of renders over the course of the project. First it had skylights, then it didn't, then they added columns.

These two loosk allot different. Both are post-skyligh removal designs. One has 1 central rib going down the center (which i think is the newest) but that one also has those 2 giant window things. Th other doesn't have this central backbone rib. I could be gettign angles wrong but its really confusing

The arches in all those renderings look too "flat" to me.

i don't think they look flat, but it seems like that "spine" is actually arched which means the arches would get flatter in the middle.

is that correct?

btw, i think this is one of caltrava's least harmonious work. i like it i guess, but i feel like he could've done something with more "harmony," smoother, softer, if that makes any sense.

Yes, the arches near the middle would be flatter, but not as flat as the rendering shows.

I found another problem with the renderings, I counted over 50 arches in one rendering but there are really only 32.

With a center to center spacing of 5' 6" the PATH hall is only 176 feet wide. (plus about 10 feet for the space between the walls and the first arches.) The renderings look much wider than that.
