About a year ago, there were hot and heavy rumours floating about that a new supermarket chain was going to be coming to the Moncton area, with speculation primarily centered on Farm Boy or Metro. There were rumours at that time about the old Cabela's or, somewhere in the Granite Centre.
There is often a factual base to rumours on SSP. It just takes time for these rumours to pan out. SSP is a good place to discover what may be going to happen in the city. Just be prepared that it might take a year or two to find out what the real scoop is.
If this does indeed turn out to be a new
Metro store, I think we can rest assured that it won't be the only one in Atlantic Canada. I think there will be Metro stores in every large city within the next 10 years. Another thought - the former Kent store in Riverview is now vacant after their move to Findlay Park. That store is also about 50,000 sq ft. I wonder if we could see a second metro store in Riverview in the next few years???
