So maybe 416 Main street will go ahead when ready with a high rise hotel like had been proposed and failed a couple times before. This is 10 years almost and stuck in limbo with no clear commitment to realizing it. Maybe the proposed Hilton Garden adjacent to Hampton Inn on York, The soon to be opened Hyatt Centric & 416 Main can teach them a good lesson.

There were around a dozen workers on site when I was walking past on the skywalk late last week. I didn't stick around to watch for long but it looked like they were taking rebar off a truck and down the ramp to the parking level.

After 10 years, I know I have grown weary in excitement for this & just losing interest in it day by day, as are the owners how they Keep reducing what it will look like..Floors lopped off, no more Residences by Sutton.taking forever to build yet opening up new ones in other cities.
S^*T or get off the pot already.
*A possible scenario for The area.....There will be other hotels that forge ahead while this crawls slower than a snails' pace.
Factually, The Hyatt Centric on Broadway opens next year.
* The Hilton Garden proposal for York & Donald will likely go ahead.
Another Hotel will likely be announced, quite possibly for the 416 Main Street site.

Id love for the Hilton and the MPI lot on Donald to go ahead. Dare to dream.

I'm also quite interested in seeing what gets cooked up for the City Place reno. If there will be any plans or ideas for future projects or if the just stick to strictly the facade and food court stuff.

Northland are looking at a $1 billion dollar arena in Plano. So, probably pushing back the Sutton Place Winnipeg back further.

They may get the two workers who worked on the Sandman Signature here in Winnipeg and have them work on the Plano project instead.

So, apparently they were actually busy over the Christmas break while I was away. Things are popping up above ground on the site.

Still not sure what the purpose of the fishing shack in front of the parking ramp is but

What's all this racket about?? lol probably just a storage shed or something like that.

Those walls look an awful lot like a parkade ramp from St. Mary up to level 2. They had one planned there originally, so maybe it's still in the cards (ie: 2 separate parkades).

I am a little surprised Northland doesn't at least get enough of a ground floor roughed in to let them open the parking lot.

i'm honestly glad they dont, my pessimistic winnipeg assumption is that anything built as a parkade with more to come later will be a parkade forever lol
