My prediction is we'll see a major floorplan alteration ; the 70 unsold residences will get scrapped and chopped up into much smaller studio condos suites that investors will buy up to rent on AirBnB. This way Mizrahi has a chance at breaking even on this project.

This isn't a speculative casino. The development has sales agreements worth billions . Does that mean everything is clear sailing to completion? Hell no. Many purchasers want out of their agreements but, they are pretty ironclad as long as they continue construction for now.

Close to another floor pour just 5 days after the previous floor. Maybe receivership is the key to accelerating construction ;-).

I like the dark glass! The renderings made the metal cladding look more gold than champagne, but not bad either.

Can anyone explain what receivership means? and is mizrahi not part of this anymore judging by the post by Knightsbridge?

this was the progress at Oct 8, since then 4 floors were added
The other buildings are all the 150m+ under construction in Toronto

Congrats

According to the CTBUH; The One will be the first supertall skyscraper completed in Toronto if not all of Canada.
First Canadian Place (assisted in design by Edward Durell Stone - Aon Center) has antenna past the 300 meter mark but they are not counted as the official height.

Pardon my tendency of being lazy as I do not like to scroll through postmarked pages looking for info or old comments in various threads... but I couldn't help notice that The One by Foster & Partners looks similar to their proposal of 50 main Street in San Francisco without the diagonal framing elements.

Eitherway looks like a solid tower adding to the dense clusters sprouting throughout the city.

I've made the exact same comparison, to be fair they are both designed by the same architect. I just wish 50 Main Street would be on the same track as The One, and that track is the building being under construction.

The One has a lot in common with Foster's Comcast Tower in Philly.

LOL, yeah there aren't any supertalls built or under construction outside of Toronto.

Mizrahi is an owner of the development. He just isn't running things anymore.

koops65, it may be time to adjust the colors on the model (which is amazing, btw). The real metal cladding seems to be closer to a brushed metal (grey) with a very, very slight champagne tinge to it than the deeper gold of the original renderings.
