I wonder the premium over pre-sale cost on this.

This is a top floor unit, and by square footage definitely not the smallest in the building.

From Daily Hive:

New Stunning Landmark Entrance Coming to Canada Line's Oakridge-41st Avenue Station

Kenneth Chan, Nov 22, 2018 7:00 pm

Quote:
A developer-spearheaded and funded initiative will provide the Canada Line’s Oakridge-41st Avenue Station with a significant aesthetic and functional overhaul.

As part of the first phase of the Oakridge Centre redevelopment, Westbank and mall owner QuadReal Property Group will be rebuilding the station entrance at the southwest corner of the intersection of Cambie Street and West 41st Avenue.

The latest design for this corner of the project involves creating a new public plaza, demolishing the existing station entrance, and constructing a new entrance just metres away, closer to the mall and aligned with the grand staircase leading up to the nine-acre rooftop public park
.

I was wondering why the model showed the station entrance in a different spot.

Let's hope they learned from the Telus Garden canopy and remember to include a gutter on this one!

The original rezoning plan from 2012 envisioned that the canopy would extend over Cambie Street & West 41st with a support base in the median. Would've been really cool...too bad they decided to scale it back but probably cheaper and less complicated for maintenance (ie. not extending onto City-owned right of way).

You can see the more ambitious plan here: https://rezoning.vancouver.ca/applications/650w41st/documents/views.pdf

That’s a lot of cantilevered weight considering the size of the base. It would be interesting to see how this thing gets built. I presume that’s a super strong glulam beam on the perimeter? The weight looks to be balanced like a teeter totter.

From the looks of it, the entrance to the mall where the RBC is seems to be pulled back and the existing tree inside the indoor cafe plaza seems to be missing.

Does anyone know if they're keeping that tree? It would be a shame if it's removed

And this pertains to Oakridge...how? Please keep emailing your clients and not bombarding this forum as this is not a real estate forum. Thanks.

Yeah that is massive, which makes it interesting! I hope it gets built as shown.

So does Vancouver House. Just takes some getting used to, I guess.

If there's a strong easterly wind, maybe it'll focus winds on the mall entrance and prevent the doors from opening

Hoo-boy. That has appearances of encroaching well outside the site proper. From experience, the short period of time that permitted such encroachments a la Telus Garden is now behind us, and such encroachments are almost impossible to obtain. I'm thinking that this proposal will either get scaled back or shifted on the site such as to remain within the site boundary.

I still can't believe this place is supposed to become an ultra-wealthy town complex. XD

To be fair, people probably said the same thing about Metrotown thirty years ago:
