Soaring some 900 feet above NYC, the highest-elevated home on Fifth Avenue lists for $11.5M

At 520 Fifth Ave., a 1,002-foot tower that topped out in October — whose height makes it the tallest residential skyscraper along the famed Manhattan corridor — a house hunter can now buy a penthouse that comes with some special bragging rights.
The building’s topper-most residence, Penthouse 80, has just listed for $11.5 million — making it the highest-elevated home along Fifth Avenue.
This aerie is indeed spectacularly perched at just under 900 feet above street level, and it spans the entire 80th floor. It has direct elevator entry to its expansive 31-foot long entry gallery, which in turn leads to a corner great room with massive exposures.

“The penthouse has 360-degree views because it’s the full floor — south to downtown and of course the Empire State Building, to the east to the Chrysler Building, and to both rivers … and to the north there’s Central Park,” Donna Puzio, senior sales director for Corcoran Sunshine Marketing Group, which is leading sales and marketing at 520 Fifth, told The Post.
Oversize arched windows frame those iconic skyline views — “They have a window sill and moldings, and give great character,” said Puzio.
Penthouse 80’s views are only outmatched in the building by 520 Fifth’s Penthouse 88 amenity suite, which includes a glass-roofed solarium, a library lounge with a Emperador marble fireplace, a private dining room with custom mural wall coverings and a gaming room with a vintage billiard table.
“It’s amazing they chose to give all residents access to the views from the very top of the building,” said Puzio of the building’s development firm, New York-based Rabina.
However, the penthouse is only a two-bedroom spread, hardly the largest in the building. The development’s 100 condos range from one- to four-bedrooms.

“It’s a very generous two-bedroom,” Puzio said. “It has 2,562 square feet of interior space,” and she added its high elevation is “a huge selling point.”
Ceilings reach nearly 13 feet; 7-inch-wide white oak-planked flooring anchors the living space. The powder room, off the entry gallery, features a custom vanity made from coppery streaked black French Saint Laurent marble.
Honed Taj Mahal quartzite countertops and white lacquer and walnut cabinetry line the kitchen. The primary suite has a large walk-in wardrobe and a five-fixture bathroom fitted with Calacatta Golden Lincoln and Verde Laguna marbles.
Taking advantage of the height, and the vistas, the primary bedroom has three exposures.
“That’s a very special feature,” Puzio said of waking up — or turning in with views to the north, west and south.

Due to be completed in late 2025, the building has already done brisk sales of its condos. Puzio said it is expected residents will be able move in by next Christmas, and live in what might just be a new iconic building in Midtown.
“This is the tallest residential building on Fifth,” Puzio re-emphasized, adding that the Fifth Avenue corridor has only one taller tower. “It’s the second tallest after the Empire State Building.”
