They have removed all the plywood over the windows and have removed all the glass from the street level of the building on the west side. The big equipment wasn't running or warming up...but the west side is all opened up...aside from the barrier fence that runs along the sidewalk. This was at 11:30 this morning.

I have a little more faith this place may actually come down....but as for when something will go up...that's the important question.

Woah, woah, woah.

It was not cancelled. You were whining about the time line. We did not put a time restriction on the bet. Pay up Calgarian.

Beautiful picture. Wish I worked at city Hall. My view is from the 7th floor of the CGI tower at the SW corner of 12th and Albert. (still pretty good)
What you don't see is the bricks and debris they knocked into the parking lane on Albert St.

They seriously could have killed someone walking by or seriously damaged a car or bus if it had been passing by at the time. This happened when the track hoe grabbed the eavestrough on the north side of the building and it peeled the top rows of bricks all the way to the front of the building. Wrecked part of their nice blue fence too.

They are quickly cleaning it up right now....before someone reports it.

Sloppy work.

That's all we need now is an accident, and then OH&S will come in and shut down the destruction after only a whopping 4-5 hours of demolition??!

Could the status of this project on the Diagrams page be changed from "Proposed" to "Under Construction"? Or is it too early?

Yes, to early. Only if construction starts as in digging hole and shoring.

Would anyone be opposed to me creating a new thread for this building with just a more cohesive title like "[Regina] Capital Point | 26 floors | 90 meters | PROPOSED"?

?

Why not just have this one renamed? No point in losing all the discussion and information.

That's a great idea too, I just thought about that actually and on the Winnipeg Construction Thread I proposed that all of the construction projects in the Man/Sask section be renamed to be more cohesive. Hopefully people agree, but if not I understand

Are things continuing today? I drove by and there was no equipment running, but it was right over lunch hour.

Who back portions of the building were knocked down, but the main wing was still standing strong.

I'm pretty sure I read that they would focus on the rear wings of the building during the day and once they had to move on to the main buildling they would do that demo at night so as to minimize the danger to motorists and pedestrians.
