Crescent rendering looks great and different from all the proposed developments on Central
Agreed. I like the Crescent rendering. I would love to see a modernized nod to mid-century architecture come into style like this. Looks great.

Re: Central and Columbus.

A construction trailer is now onsite and a construction crew is putting up a fence on the backside of the lot. Looks like this may be moving soon. I see this dirt lot every day out my office Window. One of the few remaining dirt lots in Midtown. Good to see it finally getting something.

Building permit issued for this Encore apartment project spanning between Van Buren and Washington just west of the Desert School building:

https://azbex.com/multifamily-planne...back-corridor/ (no idea why the URL refers to the "camelback corridor," link works for me but let me know if it doesn't work for anyone else).

260 units.

Wasn't this proposed like 2 years ago? I thought that was already moving before I moved out from that area. Did the project stall?

So was the BMO tower remodel but that appears to be going too.

Of course it is. The sale just closed. I am sure they bought a near empty building to sit on it and let it deteriorate.

They are building the walkway over the road for Portrait. Took a quick pic. Pretty nifty...

Yeah this was about 2 years ago. I used to work in that area (44th and Van Buren) and remember walking by the property on a lunch break. I haven't worked there since the fall of 2016.

That area presents some good development opportunities being near the airport, on the light rail, and between Tempe and Phoenix.

I wish I new thw internal workings of these development projects, some seem to slowly burn taking years some seem to pop and and move overnight. It’s actualky why I love follows this stuff, would be a very fun job maneuvering then buisness and political currents of the development industry.

Ronnie, up until about a year ago I was on the 10th floor of your building. My cousin is still there. I think it has s lot of character and the new elevators are an improvement

I don't recall seeing this posted, so going to put it up here.

More residential proposed at 17th Ave and Camelback. Rendering shows a decent height of 8 floors. TOD residential will include a mixture of low income and 55+ residential.

Donde haré negocios con el Consulado General de Honduras ahora?!

I can't believe that thing was put up in 1980. I would have guessed mid 1960s. Jebus.

I was going to say it's not much of an improvement with the lame surface parking, but it looks way better and newer and pedestrianizing the front is a major improvement.

Lots of stuff happening in this pic:

The residential development at Columbus and Central is very busy today. Concrete trucks have been coming in a lot. Looks like this one is moving fast. Alta Central in the background is pretty far along. looks to be around 75% or so completed. Bosa Donuts is working on the former burger building and Macayos got a new sign up over the weekend. Very busy block!
