Put the truck on cruise control and the maximum speed can be set to be different than if you just use the fuel pedal. Truck turns off after idling for so many minutes. Can also set it so the truck doesn't turn off if the outside temperature is below or above a certain point. Heck, the trucks my company has came from the factory with a "driver bonus" programmed into it. 100 was the set maximum speed. However, if the driver was good to the truck, meaning, didn't over rev the engine, or idle it too long, then it would gradually step the speed up to 105. The company wasn't too long in changing that to just let them go 105 lol.

Are there any laws about transports using high beams? All the highways down south are well lit so when the "Brampton drivers" (I guess that's a politically correct term?) are up here, where not even intersections have a street light, they've got as many front facing lights turned on as possible. It's terrifying.

I was wondering if anyone has photos of the 401 between Hespeler and Highway 8 and Highways 407 and 418.

Hmm might be better to ask on the Ontario section for this.

I was so gonna “summon” sonysnob (assuming asphaltplanet is him).

And... welcome to SSP!

For shame though, I drive that part of 401 so often but never stop to take a picture of this 12-lane freeway through Cambridge.

It was my first time playing around with (read: modifying/redesigning) interchanges in Québec. This one's A20 exit 209 where A55 branches off towards Trois-Rivière.

For context, here's the interchange in question: https://www.google.ca/maps/place/Sainte-...6829df3dc88cd!8m2!3d46.111885!4d-72.2492.

Drove to the end of TCH106 at Caribou NS this afternoon...and no need to worry about a reservation to get over to Prince Edward Island today for some sun, sand and surf as the marshalling area is a skating rink! Ferries go back on May 1st.

I have to go to the Island next week.....but it will be the long way 'round via the Confederation Bridge. (2 hrs via the ferry vs: 3 1/2 hrs via the bridge)

The ferry isn’t even all-year round, just like the Argentia Run??

This ferry has never has been year 'round. The CN Ferry between Cape Tormentine NB and Borden PEI operated year 'round and was replace by the Confederation Bridge in 1997.

In all fantasy, I wonder what will become of New Glasgow if we put a bridge to link N.B.-106 with P.E.-1.
Oh wait. I didn’t realize how wide the straight is at that point until I looked at the map again...

You really should get out more... It's like the politicians who talk about something like transit when they never take it.

This is with me having driven to Halifax twice and out to Yorkton (SK) once too. (Insert cry face.) I actually wanna go as far as Sydney, N.S. or even St John’s, N.L. whenever the Argentia run is running.

Haven't been to NL, but have been to various parts of Cape Breton Island, including the NP. I have been out west and lived there for a bit. The things I mention are from first hand experience.

So is what I mention in my signature.

K maybe not the 200 km part. That’s a rough estimate of distance between Winnipeg and Kenora but the 4 lanes narrow down to 2 way below the 200 km range. I should get that fixed.

Kenora has 4 lanes? When did that get done?

I mean, TCH narrows down to 2 lanes way before reaching Kenora, heading east.

More like 502 km via Kakabeka Falls (or 486 km via Dawson Road)
Man 1854 km of undivided TCH in Ontario... I’m not gonna sound like a broken recorder this time.

Fine I’ll look up the actual distance between Deacon’s Corners and Falcon Lake and put in a specific number. When I first wrote this, I was doing it in a hurry so I didn’t think much about the actual number.

Ps: At this rate, I’m afraid both of us are gonna get suspended...

Edit: Wow, with the shorter distance, it actually serves my narrative better.
