I was asked in the
Super-tall thread what the odds were of
SkyTower getting its extra 10 storeys and I replied that I think this height increase will be
green-lit because it doesn't face any of the usual challenges that happen in the built up core... shadows on parks/schools, same wind conditions etc.
And the
entire eastern waterfront along Queens Quay from Yonge to the east is
under construction afterall so if
Menkes complains about
10 more storeys here impacting their 299 metre and 290 metre towers (in site-prep and demo phase) right next door to Pinnacle One Yonge... I think they'd be laughed out of the room

.
Hey, maybe
Menkes will pitch their
299 metre tower at a taller height too (299 metres is of course a
wannabe super-tall annoyance to 'scraper geeks like moi ;-).
Perhaps a more interesting question is: how will Sam Mizrahi respond to this if he gets his height increase for
The One @ 338.3 metres at long last... only to fall short again!
Bet he's shopping for a
spire as I write this

Couple of renderings I’ve haven’t noticed before from HPA, including a view to the west of the office/hotel component and the residential podiums (3 towers). Also some interior atrium shots that look more recent.
