I seriously hope that no one in the world is considering eating foie gras with hot cocoa - rich or poor.

I'm surprised that there's actually one person LIVING in this building. I thought it was just a vacant space for rich foreign investors to park their money.

Cool comparison, thanks

That's what the NIMBYs claim. Back in the real world, the majority of residences were purchased by locals (and the same is true with all these 57th Street towers).

This is true. A lot of the units are by locals. I think what happens is that people see the penthouses being bought by foreigners, such as in 432 Park, some Saudi bought it, but a lot of the others are by domestic buyers; One57 being similar. Probably the notion that if a foreigner buys the most expensive units, in these cases around uber-luxery developments across that the city, than it must hold true that the cheaper units are also foreign bought. Such is not the case. Its a nice illusion, a fallacy in thought, but domestic buyers do account for a large portion of NYC purchases.

I like how from that landscape angle you can't see any of the lower part of Hoboken / Weehawken below the palisades.

I agree. I , too was late seeing this magnificent building. A unique design that turned out pretty cool. Also, with the height under 500 ft., it accentuates the skyline perfectly. Nice eye candy on the river front.

432 Park is like the "pioneer" of the "super" supertalls in New York. I never imagined a skyscraper that tall being so thin. Just simply amazing!

Hats off to New York!

I was in a lucky position to be stuck in traffic.

Couple of developments can be seen.

It's amazing to view New York in the 40's & 50'S. The skyscrapers actually look taller, than in today's skyline. The skyline in the early 1900's looks amazing, if you find the ones with the demolished "Singer" building types. When I was in grade school, we were treated to Class trips to N.Y. from Philly. The skyline back then, (early 60's) had that same "tada" scenario. The Empire State was looking taller back then too. The 2020 photo is showing how this scenario will be repeated. Cool photos, Chris.

Yep. In a way, if everything is tall, then nothing is. Will be great to see a return to some more significant peaks and valleys!
