It's details like this that matter when figuring out whether a project is truly transit-oriented or merely transit-adjacent.
Everyone will just walk through the tiny parking lot next to it, so the sidewalk on the street is irrelevant. This gets back to that curvy vs. straight sidewalk through the park discussion. People will take the straight line every time. Besides, it's not built yet. Since the road will largely be new, they will probably add a sidewalk.

This is when I roll my eyes, face palm and don't check the forum for a month cause there are pages arguing about sidewalks and parking lots...

It's too bad the good restaurants are in the terminals and not in the Great Hall, because it would be a fun outing to ride out there, grab drinks at the Hotel, and dinner at Root Down or Elway's.

Sounds like that's changing with the new restaurant and brewery going into the Westin. Add in the Great Hall renovation that's coming and your idea might be realistic in a couple of years.

Love the great photos (of course), especially the latter ones as they have people included. The hotel lobby is quite nice although it feels a bit sterile. Maybe a few plants or a couple of more intimate seating areas. Eh, all in all, very nice.

Won't the Great Hall be off limits to non-ticketed passengers though once the new renovation goes through?

Ryan, do you have pictures of the inside of the actual transit station level (Level 1) of the airport?

Great photos.

Yes! I have quite a few, I'm working on getting them up; I've just been swamped this week. I'll make sure to post them here when I get everything done!

Was this already posted? A new and fresh nimby rant on ugly buildings.

In one breath, the author bemoans rising rent, and the ugly cheap buildings adding thousands of units.

As usual the comment section is amusing, if you're bored at work.

Jefferson Park

I like this new project in Jefferson Park previewed by Ken on Denver Infill.

Nice modern edges. Great colors. No faux old bricks to lamely imitate historical architecture.

So much nicer than the VIA on Lincoln or the Gables Speer on Speer!

Don't believe it was; thought about posting it bcuz I like this picture, lol.

I wouldn't call it a NIMBY rant so much as Architect Michael Paglia's personal views on the topic - although the hypocrisy is noted. It was a pretty good read except for me w/o the background to know one period/style from another I'm sure much was lost.

Shoooot, I don't even recall seeing anything about this project previously which started construction in 2015 (according to Ken)... unless I missed it. In any case, it does look rather refreshing I'd agree, assuming the rendering is representative of the final product.

Don't know him and he doesn't seem to be anti-development per se, but this comment in his introductory paragraph is similar to many nimby-sounding people:

But there have also been some bad changes: the terrible traffic, the litter and pet waste everywhere, the sky-high rents and the swelling ranks of the homeless, not to mention legalized marijuana.

I tend to agree that legalized marijuana on balance has had a negative impact on the City.

However, I think its mostly because of Colorado's unique position and "first adopter" role. Hopefully, when California legalizes (and other states), the pressure will come off Colorado and marijuana use will truly normalize here.

Wait. The platform for the train isn't actually under the main canopy? WTF?
