None of this is true. 432 Park has an improved streetwall, because it replaced small-scale retail along 57th that didn't align with adjacent buildings with a huge retail space that does align with adjacent buildings. 57th Street will be much more vibrant than before.
The Park Ave. side isn't zoned for large scale retail anyways, nor is it zoned for buildings lining up. That corner was never vibrant, and zoning doesn't intend for Park to have extensive street-level retail in the first place. It's intended for banks, showrooms, and office lobbies. Yet the Park Ave. side has a multilevel retail space, where previously there was nothing.

Vinoly vastly improved Manhattan's urban street fabric. He replaced empty, blank spaces on the Park Ave. side with huge multilevel retail spaces on the 57th Street side. The neighborhood is far more urban, pedestrian friendly, and vibrant than before.

There are no "boring plazas and driveways" at 432 Park. You made that up.
People just like to make up random stuff on SSP. The corner of 56th and Park used to be a blank, empty space that didn't line up with neighboring buildings. Now it's a large multilevel retail space that lines up with its neighbor. Apparently urban multilevel retail space is really a "driveway" according to Hamilton.
