Similar day to yesterday, sunny and mild again. Some cloud cover did move in later in the day though.

These were taken at Darlington PP.

It was starting to rain, overcast with a cold wind when I went on a hike on top of the Oak Ridge moraine by Seneca College this afternoon. The top of Dufferin Street is gravel, hilly and winding.

Drove back to Montreal. Real decent drive. 7-8C and sunny for most of the drive I have to say my car thermometer is pretty good. As I was passing through Kingston, the car thermometer was showing 7C and sure enough the EC station was sitting at 6.5C at that hour. It's not only today. Every single time I compare the car reading with EC station's it's always spot on or a degree difference.

Also fun the observe the snow situation... completely bare for much of the drive.
You start to notice some wet spots (where the snow had been melting) around Prescott.
The first piles are noticeable around Morrisburg.
The first very patchy snow cover (in shady areas) around Cornwall.

Definitely a lot of melt has happened in Montreal but still some snow remain. Some grass popping up in sunnier places.

The warmspot was Milk River, AB at 12.2C.

Warmest low was Estevan Point, BC at 8.9C.

Rainy and 8 degrees, the low was 6.1 this morning. Mild weather continuous until Christmas.

Interestingly, AccuWeather is showing well below normal temperatures for all of January and February. Hopefully they're wrong

Another stormy Monday coming for NS. Warnings for wind, rainfall, and storm surge have been issued. We’re looking at 100 km/h winds, 70ish mm of rain in the process. High temps will be around 13. I’m expecting power outages for many households… sigh.

7C and overcast today. Started raining now. Same temperature but the dewpoint has increased and added with the rain, those are the optimal snow melting condition (much better than the sun). The snow in Montreal is now down to piles and the shadiest of the areas. Apart from that, it's bare ground. Will be interesting to see tomorrow.

Low of -1C (wind chill of -5) last night around midnight before the temperature started increasing.

The warmspot was Solander Island, BC at 11.3C.

Warmest low was Solander Island, BC at 8.2C.

There was some morning sun and then it became overcast for the afternoon.
Otherwise calm, dry and mild.

Sunday's high at Vancouver Harbour was 10 C, the low was 6 C.

+11C and rain in Moncton at 8 AM. The temperature will rise to +14C this afternoon, and rain will persist until early next morning. Perhaps 50-80 mm is on the way. Winds will rise all day, peaking at 60 km/hr, gusting to 90 this evening. It's going to be stormy - essentially a wet (not white) nor'easter.

They often have small blooms during milder winters. Happens here in Japan too. Its sporadic and only occurs in a couple species.

So yesterday was the first real winter day in my area of Japan. The low was around 1 and the high was around 4. There were small squalls of snow flurries blowing through the area, nothing stuck on the ground though.

I was treated to an amazing sunset by chance, sadly I didn't have my good camera on me so I had to use my phone... feels like a shame, but I think the pics still turned out okay.

You can see one of the snow flurries blowing in over the hills.

It's like the sunshine is falling to the earth as a substance and not just light. It's a very cool capture.

Eleven degrees, grey and low visibility here on Bedford Basin this morning. Still dry and the wind is gusting. The low last night was -1.7. Showers transitioning to rain is forecast to begin around noon and continue through the night. Wind will be at its highest at about 10 pm with gusts forecast by TWN to be as high as 83 kph. Double digit temps should persist through to Tuesday evening. The TWN 14 day forecast now takes us into the first day of 2024.

It was really amazing to watch. The wind was howling too so the snow blew over the hills in dazzling waves.
