Although let us not forget the overloard of all Niagara fuglys.

Unfortunately while the Niagara Falls Hilton was a classic of the original Ugly Canada Thread, the mini Clock at the base (the mark of fugliness) has not been mentioned.

Definitely the worst thing Niagara has ever churned out (outside of marineland).

I would love to eat at the rooftop Keg. I like The Kegs food and I love Niagara Falls when it’s not a cesspool of tourists. So it’s a pretty nice combo . That sign is obnoxious though, from all angles around that building all you can see is THE KEG!!!!!! It gets old rather quickly .

That is wretched. The green spandrel /glass on the corners with the orange roof. Just awful.

Also there’s a TGI Friday’s in there which is thankfully one of the only ones in Canada. Seriously it’s one of my least favourite American chains outside of Applebee’s.

Not TGI Friday's but equally horrible.

I cannot fathom spending your honeymoon in Niagara Falls. It seems so tacky and ugly. The falls may be amazing but the surroundings are depressing. I imagine rooms with heart shaped Jacuzzis and mirrored ceilings everywhere.

I stayed at that horrid extra tall hilton overlooking the falls. the views were fantastic (and there was a pretty decent Brazilian churrascaria restaurant that served endless quantities of various meats from swords), but NF is without a doubt, hands-down, the absolute tackiest place in the country. Beautiful falls, but the rest of the place is just dreck. Especially Clifton Hill.

Dracula's castle has been around since....well I don't know but it was there in the 70s when I was a kid. Still plays the theme from Psycho over and over and over again.

Video Link

there it is, some time back in the 70s

When our kids were I think 5 and 9 we went with extended family to NF to 'see the falls' and we had dinner somewhere further up Clifton Hill. My 9 year old looked around at all the gaudy stuff and quite knowingly said 'dad...you hate this don't you'. I had to be polite and just nod as others in our group love that kind of schtick and even willingly go to Myrtle Beach (and like new country ).

Take out a high interest money loan to get a handy at the massage parlor then finish it off with some Taco Slime.
Is it just me that finds it quite convenient Lube Town is adjacent to said massage parlour

It's too bad Niagara Falls is the way it is. There was always going to be a tourist aspect but think if it ended up like Banff or something, touristy yes, but still respectable. An old railway hotel would look tremendous against the falls.

Even the Niagara Parkway. Why is there a 4 lane "parkway" straddling the falls?

I was in Banff twice this last summer at the beginning and end of a vacation and we couldn't wait to get out. Packed full of people who you know will never get 5 minutes beyond the trailhead, tacky souvenir shops and expensive restaurants. The 2nd time we were there it was about +35 humid and smoke from nearby forest fires which didn't add to the ambience.

If you want to go to a tacky place head to Blackpool, UK. or the ultimate in Americana kitsch, Branson, Missouri

It is very very wretched, the fact that half of it’s a billboard just makes it. All of The Seneca Casino is in Niagara Falls NY but is still a very worthy opponent for Clockzilla. I have never eaten at Ruby Tuesday’s, although I do hear they are basically the same thing as TGI Friday’s so I’m not really that excited to eat there. I just remember walking into Ruby Tuesday’s seeing the tacky decor and cringing.

What’s worse about the Embassy Suites is the near windowless back half.

I recall in 2005 going with family to Disney World and meeting couples honeymooning there and wearing matching his and hers mickey/minnie mouse hats with the ears etc that announced they were on their honeymoon. I feigned interest in a Disney World honeymoon but to me it ranks up there with Branson or Gatlinburg as a location to go.

Not So Qaulity Inn.

The Sheraton is absolutely awful.

If the Marriott didn’t have a sign I would have thought it was a jail.

There is also the Marriott “Gateway”.

I’m going to end with the, half stucco, half glass, all fugly Fallsview Casino Resort. Which is mostly a giant warehouse with one tower sticking out of it

BONUS ROUND: Worst Western.

Indeed Banff is like that but it is kind of a happy medium. Niagara Falls is just a complete pimping out of a natural attraction without any regard.

The whole area would've made for a spectacular national park, with the falls and the gorge and everything. Even if the US side developed it doesn't have the view.

Oakville has its fair share of ugliness.

Without a doubt the two worst buildings in Oakville.
https://www.rentfast.ca/rfc/listing_...51d23948da.jpg

While not as bad as some of the stuff in Longueuil or Laval, they still look like something you would see in Russia.
https://www.caprent.com/uploadedImag...gh-photo-5.jpg

Not to mention the stuff across the street.
http://images2.viewit.ca/73029/73029MORE_3.jpg

https://www.reminetwork.com/wp-conte...-apartment.jpg

This isn’t near that area but stucco box is stucco box.
https://rlp.jumplisting.com/photos/8...4351964_lg.jpg

Which brings me to my second least favourite area of Oakville starting with my second least favourite buildings.
http://www.oakparkcondominiums.ca/im...rd-feature.jpg

Atrocious Stucco Condo.
https://rlp.jumplisting.com/photos/8...4195521_lg.jpg

http://mediatours.ca/upload/propertys/35284/425543.jpg

Awful “modern” buildings
https://d3afxrdsnln619.cloudfront.ne...nCsivEzDCm.jpg

Wall Tetris at the Holiday Inn.
https://images.trvl-media.com/hotels...12b75c21_z.jpg

http://ihg.scene7.com/is/image/ihg/h...3556457738-4x3

The New Police Headquarters is very very bad.
http://www.burlingtongazette.ca/wp-c...W-1024x530.png

But would any post about Oakville ugly’s be complete without Speers Road?
http://cdn.agentlocator.ca.s3.amazon...28745eafd.jpeg

I never could stand Oakvilles new tallest.
http://cdn.agentlocator.ca.s3.amazon...bc3ab579d.jpeg

The second tallest is constantly under renovation.

This one is just plain bad.

I hate those drive-thru only Rim Whoreton's. they are ugly, and create havoc with traffic (mostly pickup trucks) trying to get their cup of double-double and the lousy crap that passes for food at Rimmies.

We've got tons of those drive-thru only Rimmies here in London.
