No, it’s replacing the old used car dealership. It’s the big lot on Congress between Red Bird Ln and Mockingbird Ln just north of Sagebrush.

I wonder what they are assuming will happen with project connect there. I also wondered if the plan included taking some of those lots.

New renderings from AISD for the modernized Travis High School. This is the district's most expensive project to date costing over a quarter of a billion dollars. Construction starts in december and the project's tower crane goes up in Q1 2025.

There are some more renderings including interior views from the community meeting presentation at the link. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1vFI...qg9iFSC9P/view

I'm a Rebel, class of 98. I'm very excited about the new campus. It's been a long time coming. There will be a community center/meeting place as part of the campus according to the alumni group. With a donation, I'll have a brick with my name on it

Winding, narrow Thornton Road to get more housing

Quote:
After two unsuccessful attempts to update the zoning on some commercial property on a narrow South Austin street, the owners succeeded in getting City Council approval to rezone the property at 2313, 2315, 2401 and 2413 Thornton Road at the Nov. 7 Council meeting. The new zoning will be MF-6 (Multifamily-Highest Density) with a conditional overlay and a maximum height of 60 feet. Only Council Member Alison Alter voted against the change.

Thornton Road runs south from Oltorf Street, sandwiched between a railroad track and South Lamar Boulevard. The street includes some single-family houses, some multifamily units and a variety of commercial businesses, including artist galleries and workshops.

Yes, it is. Unclutch your pearls. It’s currently a bunch of warehouses. It’s a great spot.
