Is that true that you found chunks falling off of the side of Homewood Suites? That doesn’t inspire confidence. This thing is so big, I really hope it doesn’t look terrible…it’s going to form a pretty prominent part of the view of the city from the west.

Yes. If you go up to the entrance along George Street and knock on the cladding with your hand, it sounds about as hollow as drywall. There's also lots of evidence of patch work.

I'm interested if it gets a decent headdress, not just some aluminum mech block.

They've had some goon up there sandblasting the stone, and it looks like they've damaged it along the front part of the federal building.

I was parked in the parking lot beside the building the other day and proceeded to watch some guy move up and down on the boom for about 45mins while talking on his cell phone lol. Literally just up... then down... then up... then down

Wasn't even looking at the building lol. Anyway, just thought it was strange is all. It's going to be a tight race to get 150 Main ready by the end of Septmeber but it's nice to see people actually working on the building for a change.

That blue material is a coating put on to prep the surface for stucco.

@davidcappi and I talked with both the construction workers on site and the condo sales center lady who has confirmed that the second tower will be clad in a majority of grey stucco prefab pieces and glass.
The two condo towers will also house a retail plaza where a AAA client has already been secured. They weren't allowed to reveal who it was for confidentiality reasons however when pressed about whether or not it was a Shoppers Drug Mart the staff gave us a typical "I cannot confirm those details..." answer but then hinted positively that it could be. There are also a bunch of smaller commercial units that are also slated for some AAA clients and we could even possibly see another Starbucks.

Shoppers makes sense based off the new healthcare center next door and the shabby looking shoppers across the street needing work (I assume, I've never actually been inside).

Spoke with a sales rep yesterday and apparently the elevators aren't even in yet (were suppose to be installed mid July). No way they hit the end of September closing date IMO. Ontario really needs laws to govern condo conversions such as this. Very frustrating to say the least.

Flar posted this photo in this thread back in 2011. I snapped the second one about two weeks ago. Interesting comparison.
