Given its final height and location downtown particularly in relation to neighbouring tall buildings, I think this one might be a sort of "centrepiece."
Just hope that the final desing in pleasing and has enough character to make it stand out, without looking pre-fab, lacklustre, or hokey.

Here's hoping, anyway.

From the renders and looking at what is built so far, I think this tower will not disappoint.

Also we should remeMber this is our second tallest tower!

I hope its "raindrop" lighting feature is still part of the plan (along with the "hotel Georgia" sign on the outside of the restored hotel.)

Once this tower is complete, Vancouver will have 3 true "skyscrapers" (from the best of my knowledge, a true skyscraper is 150m +)

Sure is sad the RC (or Vancouver's Turn) is not on the radar screen. That project has been the largest skyscraper geek cock tease this city has ever seen! On, off, on, off, maybe coming back, off, revised hight, off, etc....

yay for the Georgia actually being built!

YES! What a lovely finish that building has. And it's in the provincial northern Spanish city of Bilbao, not Madrid or Barcelona.

I love that view, it's what I wake up to every morning in Madrid (although a bit further, I live about 5km from the towers)

Interesting to note, the Canadian Embassy is in the building at the right.

I know. My mum's boyfriend is the ambassador of El Salvador in Madrid and they were looking into moving into the same tower as the Canadian Embassy, apparently rent on a lower floor office for ~15 people, starts at around 10,000 euros a month!!! I can see the Canadians paying upwards of 30,000euros/month for the space they have!

Yeah, and the one in HK is in Exchange Square in Central. Nice to know where tax dollars go...
