This site's entire history is one of the most frustrating examples of a developer just continually getting the short end of the stick.

That's difficult to hear. A 60-floor tower would really crown Yaletown. I wonder what other projects got cut with that viewcone?

It was viewcone F1 from Choklit Park to the Lions. It's pretty skinny so I don't think it hit too much else, but obviously a pretty shitty blow to the 8X project team.

Did a single viewcone get introduced or was it part of the last review? If former, it almost sounds targeted.

I am already struggling to remember what was here before this project:

No it was part of the 2011 taller buildings review. Wasn't targeted, I know planning wasn't too pleased either.

Did The Penthouse wall recently get repainted or has it always had that design?

Has there any plans for that parking lot seen in the picture? Who owns that lot?

Not sure who owns it, but currently used by Hotel Belmont guests and visitors. Don't think there is a plan for it either, but I do think that corner is ripe for redevelopment.

If we get the 2030 Olympics, it can be used for a beer garden tent like it was in 2010.

This building is faintly intriguing. Sort of two separate buildings joined together. The different styles make it interesting.
