I listened to the podcast today, he is saying he wants to build 6 story buildings to the south of the mall.

Looks like the DQ is open or about to open soon in the new building on the NE corner of the parking lot. Daves Hot Chicken has been open for a few weeks now.

The "Landlord" wants to change the zoning to more than double the amount of office space allowed in the Westmount Mall.

The Owner is advancing an Official Plan Amendment to increase the maximum permitted office GFA from 10,000 m2 to 22,500 m2 and to permit one office use to have a maximum of 12,500 m2 GFA, with all other offices limited to the current 2,000 m2 maximum floor area.

Downtown councillor wants Carfax to move downtown instead of Westmount Mall and threatens to vote against zoning change to increase office space in the Mall to accommodate Carfax growing employee head count.

I'm not sure there is a single downtown facility that can accommodate 800 staff, has on-site parking that is free for those staff, and at the right price.
