Yep! I promise not to spam this thread with a bunch of spaceflight posts, since this thread is focused on construction. But it does look like this is happening! Date is currently Monday, 4/17.

Dang, Starbase is growing so fast they're already tearing down earlier buildings to make room for bigger ones.

SpaceX posted another set of iconic images. I love the shot of all the guys sitting on the catch arms (the chopsticks).

Yeah, it is quite literally one of the extreme ends of the country. As far south in Texas or the US as you can go. Other than maybe the Florida Keys.

Its not that bad if you're going there on purpose. Its about half an hour drive if you fly into Brownsville. There is nothing to do there though besides seeing Starbase.

It's only a few miles from South Padre Island. Most people watch from there because of the safety range, can't get much closer.

This is probably the best resource for staying and viewing a launch.

Science fiction is now Science Fact.

They caught the booster!

There will be plenty of edited videos later. For now, enjoy!

I just drove from Omaha to Boise using the most circuitous route possible, I think I could trek down to S. Texas from Houston to catch an upcoming Starship launch. Never got a chance to see the Shuttle so def. Need to see this at least once. This last one was nothing short of impressive. We do live in the future.

they aren’t too happy with musky around vandenberg —

SpaceX launches cause late-night booms that rattle windows, set off car alarms, and may damage property. Some locals are pushing back.

Story by ktangalakislippert

SpaceX rocket launches from the Vandenberg Space Force Base, some taking place between midnight and 5 a.m., have also triggered car alarms, loosened light fixtures, and knocked books and framed photos from the shelves inside homes, residents of Santa Barbara County, California, told Business Insider.

Elon Musk is some kind of megalomaniac weirdo with both good and bad ideas.
He would confess it, himself.
Too bad the character got so involved in politics and grew so controversial. He might have to pay the price for it in the end.
Whatever, the SpaceX reusable booster is more than a minor enhancement, it is likely to revolutionize the entire space industry. It still was science fiction just years ago.
That's what engineers are given to achieve when a crazy billionaire watched Star Wars too much.
And it's very cool. We need this kind of technology to go further into space. Musk is right in that respect.
