FYI, you're looking at images dated 2015 (for this one at least). This lot on Rue Lesage has actually been developed into a low-rise apartment building with a much smaller and reasonable sized parking lot off to the side.

This very large lot is a beauty - It's important that nothing be built in order to protect Gatineau's almost non-existent skyline

This lot was slated for a 12 story development, but residents of the Blackburn Building successfully lobbied the mayor to not approve because it would block their view of the Lac Leamy Casino water fountain. The Blackburn, being a shithole condo tower from the 60s or 70s on St-Joseph.

This isn't even in Gatineau's downtown...

I like that chip stand, and incidentally, with the exception of the parking lot, that area of St-Joseph is one of the better areas. There's a hotel there, as well as a lot of street front businesses from there to the roundabout at Allumettieres.

I already covered this in a previous post. They didn't lobby the Mayor; the Mayor was fully supportive of the project (which was 10, 17 and 30 floors, not just 12), but an old rule that pre-dates the current administration tied their hands. It would have taken nearly a year and hundreds of man-hours to block that rule but both the City and the developer decided is was not worth it.

The cancellation of this project was in no way the Mayor's or Action Gatineau's doing. A handful of residents in the Blackburn Building were able to kill it thanks to an outdated rule.

I believe that this project is being redrawn and will be back.

I've said it before. St Joseph has the potential to be the next Hintonburg. All of the building blocks are there.

(and Mr. Conductor, tone it down with the hyperbole..)

Except Hintonburg got it done! Gatineau is Gatineau where nothing gets done...

This long weekend I'm going to spend some time in Gatineau and see if the hubcap is still propped up against the dilapidated building next to the dirty sand covered sidewalk, it's not exactly a great way to welcome guests to the Gatineau Park...

This is honestly getting ridiculous. Your stream of consciousness shitposts are not contributing anything to this forum.

I tried Ignore List but this feature on this forum is absolutely useless...
