Awwwesome - so they don't have to rebrick it - yeah usually they just clad right over the original.

The best part is if that's original having covered it up has spared it years worth of pollution staining

Although looking at the pics of when the facade first came off it looked like just raw brick so maybe its been newly added..

Hey guys, some coreurban images of the 2nd floor mezzanine inside and its art deco railing - as well as the stair connection between it and the building next door on the third floor.

"Lots of progress happening at The Olympia Club, at 59 King. Wall studs are in and dry wall is being installed on the third floor"

"We’ve connected two offices in The Olympia Club between 59 and 61 King with terraced communal stairs. Perfect for team meetings, announcements, break time, or rallies to start the day."

"A detailed shot of the beautiful Art Deco railings on the mezzanine inside 59 King St."

"It’s all about the details that can really make a space. A ceiling moulding takes shape at The Olympia Club."

"The double-height ground floor of 59 King is coming along nicely after we’ve uncovered the mezzanine.
.
More updates to come as this space evolves."

"The office space on the 4th floor of 59 King is getting a really unique touch: newly added clerestory windows to shine more light on what will be a lounge space.
.
It's one of the many little things we love to do to ensure our office spaces are the perfect fit for your business to prosper."

"Another close-up shot of the details and clean lines on the art deco railings located on the mezzanine level inside 59 King."

"Measurements and discussions over the common space and terraced communal stairs on the third floor that teather 59 and 61 King Street. "

"The latest look at the Art Deco railings on the mezzanine.
.
More light is filling the ground floor space as we continue to renovate the interior and exterior of 59 King."

I saw it briefly on the drive to Westdale this morning, it's a beauty, especially in person. You can tell they didn't cheap out on the brickwork.

Yep, these guys are top-notch.

It really does look better than the render. Impressive. And looking forward to the ground floor reveal, too.

Especially on the building on the right. It looks great in person, but here's a crappy night photo:

^They make it look so easy.

Can't quite make out the smaller building to the right. Yellow brick? Looks lovely!

Do we know what Core Urban's next project will be?

It was hard to get a good view with all the trees and it being night time. Hopefully someone can get a better picture at some point. I'll try if nobody else does.

15/10. Core Urban is the best developer in the city, there is absolutely no competition.

Pictures taken this evening from my cell phone don't do this justice, but:

It would be a massive undertaking - nothing exists under those screens - they would have to rebuild the entire facade from scratch - not that that stopped them in this instance - but yes I would loooove to see them restore that building.

And yeah the brickwork looks awesome - although that brick colour on that second building made me initially think the entire facade hadn't put up yet and was plywood as it's so similar from far away to the plywood colour haha..

but yeah looking at these buildings you'd never know that they had ever degenerated to the state they had gotten to - which is wonderful - can't wait for the new building to but up to it to hide that ugly side wall

the modern in between will be nicely flanked between this and the right house classical designs

Can't wait to see the art deco mezzanines inside!

I do have to admit though the cornices look a bit.. odd.. I am guessing they are preparing for the building next door to butt right up to it so the right side has them angularly tapering off at the corners while the left side appears to just be flat cur off.

Also with the changes the building next door now no longer has balanced windows as the facade of the original looks like it ate partially into the building to the left - making the windows and cornice look a bit weird now too.. guess they had to work with what they had.

I still have not found an answer as to why the building next to this was reduced a whole floor or 2 historically.. it used to be almost as tall as the olympia club..
