Meeting King Waldorf at Marineland was a big deal for me personally.

And I was an adult. (Not me in the photo BTW.)

Sorry I can't get links for any of this stuff from my office.
That sill airs a lot in Toronto. Particularly on Q107.

I remember the English version and the ads on our radio stations. We used to have a Jean Coutu in Timmins, ON. The store closed and the company made an agreement with Shoppers Drug Mart that they both would close stores in some areas where competition was hurting both of the companies.

Most annoying in Ottawa (and most of S. Ontario) - Nobody deals, like DI-LAW-REE. (these bastards)

So what radio ad in your city is annoying as hell? Everytime you are in your car, you hear it and go bonkers?

Discuss.
We hear it Quebec as well. I'm rather fond of it, if only for the dominant female voice. Our little circle of friends snort and giggle at how much it reminds of our friend Cathy, if she could sing.

And that's it for me. The first page of this thread keeps crashing my iPad

I'm not so sure it's a female.. it's so bad I have no idea. Never heard the French version - is there one? (I am in Quebec, but hear it on Ottawa radio all the time.)

Sorry I missed this. Yeah, I saw the Garlic King in the Christmas Parade last year on Bank street, in his king garb...but does he have a catchy jingle?

Bushtukah is funny. Whenever I hear it in the car, I say the word loudly and in sync.

An AM music station? Producing extended documentary reports on the AIDS epidemic? It was a different time...

Although it was referenced in an earlier post, this really deserves its own posting. Anyone from the GTA will know the "Cash Man" Russell Oliver.

Here's one of his "finest". Ohhhhhhh Yeee-ahhhhh!!!

I absolutely hate when the guy in the Pizza 73 commercials say "Sweeeeet!" when they have their chocolate chip pizza or whatever. Sounds like the most cringe-worthy thing. Not a jingle, but annoying thing in radio nonetheless.

Anyone remember the Canadian company that used "Can-Do!" in its ads in the 1980s?

As in "Can-do, can-do, (name of company) would like to say can-do!"

This one stands out in my mind as a truly awful 90s Canadian commercial, both for the product (overpriced bare bones computer, but OMG, IT'S A GINUWINE IBM) and for the horrendous bastardized 90s dancemix tune.

I assume no liability for mental distress caused by playing this video

CFTR in Toronto was an AM powerhouse in the 70s and 80s.

Cory Galbraith who worked there reading news has a web page with an 11 minute sound bite.

http://www.galbraithcommunications.com/cftr/

The commercials and jingles are endless. Old school jocks Jim Brady, Mike Cooper (just retired last month from CHFI), Bill Hayes, Dan Williamson (what a voice!) and Broadway Bobby Day...etc
