If their income rises eventually to the point where they wouldn't qualify any more, it would make total sense for them to either donate the entirety of their past-the-threshold income every year at that point, or else just convince their employer to permanently cap their income at the threshold.
(Can you always refuse a raise in France? I suppose union jobs may have strict pay scales...?)
