True. I think if I had a unit 500-750sqft that would be more than enough for me and a partner (and maybe children, though I don't plan on any) to live in very comfortably. But it is all about location. If you're not in a good place with nice amenities you might feel cloistered in your unit.
Small, functional units for temporary people would definitely be great. Sort of like
Nakagin Capsule Tower in Tokyo, where businesspeople who missed the late trains home can rent out for the night to sleep in. Though I can't imagine MPs wanting to live in small units too much, as I bet they'd rather spend the extra money for a larger place.
