Getting close

Construction is getting closer to street level. My guess is that street level will be reached in July. Once they get passed the podium levels that are as big as the foundation and underground parking, this should move up fairly quickly.

I really need to get over there one of these days and take another look at it. It has been over a month since I last visited the site, and I really would like to see it as it reaches ground level.

Thanks

Thanks Bulliver. I knew that if I mentioned the progress on this site that you wouldn't be able to resist the temptation to go and take some photos. Great shots as always. It amazes me how quickly this is moving considering the fact that I have never counted more than 20 workers on site.

Looking forward to seeing this getting above grade.

Big Pour

Today they are pouring the floor slab for the Northwest quarter. That puts that corner about one level below grade. Northeast corner already conplete to one level below grade. Typical parkade staggered flooring of about a half level per corner makes it hard to discribe how close to grade the whole thing is. The south side is about a half to one level behind but the support pillars have already been poared and forms removed. Forms for the core are now slightly above grade.

Thanks! I used to do my construction updates every other week, but I have been stupid busy with work so that has lapsed a bit...

East side at grade

The East side of the complex is at grade. It is probably at least two weeks before the west side will be equal. the support pillars on the west side look freshly poared so won't be ready to bear load for at least a few days. The warm weather should help with that. Forming for the west side (at or near grade) floor slab is underway. I guess that my earlier prediction of being "at grade" around the end of July was way out of wack. The small crew is doing well though.

Decent looking addition to Edmonton's skyline. Nice seeing some height outside the core part of the skyline.

Above grade

Work is being done above grade. Many concrete support pillars have been poared above grade and forms are being assembled at a good pace. Only a small portion of the at grade slab is unfinished. Probably to leave acsess to lower levels for another week or so.

Can't wait until sales get started for this tower. Really interested to see what some of the suites will be going for, and how quickly they will sellout. I've heard likely in the $475 sq/ft range...

Ha! What is up with the theoretical hills in the background? It makes it look as though the setting is Boise, ID (which has an awesome geographic setting no less), not Edmonton.
