Here is the Brantford. It was built in 1928. During that time it was the tallest in Midland.

Thanks!

Here is a brand new highrisethat has come into Midland. This is the Midland Telecast International Inc. The company is a long lasting TV and radio station supplier rooting back into 1979. It now is the leading provider in Midland and is the 4th biggest provider in Oklahoma.

This is another brand new highrise. It has taken over Watson Place which did not make it into the rebuild. Not sure what to call it yet.

The Willington Hotel. It was built is 1967. At the time, it was one of the most nicest hotels in Downtown Midland.

I'm trying to create a more urban style this time. Am I doing it right?

Your skills are improving, looks really good with the optimized textures, but your buildings still lack street level connection like retail or lobbys ;-)

About the street detail, I do agree with you. So you mean adding plaza's and stuff like that with retail?

Yes, just take alook at Pingyaos detailed city project and how his buildings use their groundfloors. There you'll get some very good impressions, of course you wont need the same amount of detail ;-)

New update!

It's the evening in Midland! Looking down Harrison Street. Also showing you the street detail I'm working on.

New highrise in Midland! Sullivan Luxury, was built in 2003, one of the newer highrises.

Street detail on InnerCorp Insurance. Now, the entrance area is on the other side of the highrise. The entrance and street detail is supposed to be re-done sometime in the next few months, as it has not been updated since 1991.

Random picture. This is one of the newer highrises, a residential highrise as I said earlier in my last post. A more "personal" shot of Sullivan Luxury.

Here is the projected timeline of what will be coming up in Midland!

* I hope to finish the downtown detail before the end of October. Depends on my life, though.

* The outer core should be completed around December, this means the lowrises and rowhouses.

* After that, I'm not sure where I want to take it. Suburbs?

It's quiet around here, eh?

Anyways, I am intorducing another aspect of Midland. Photo-realistic roof textures! Now, I didn't want to show any white space, as it makes it look non- urban/non-realistic, but here goes. I only have these textures on 4 highrises so far, so bear with me!

Another teaser shot. This is looking down to Sullivan Luxury.

I am a big fan of the Sullivan Luxury, I like how it's at the end of the street in that last shot!

Thanks!

Like Patrick, I've been really busy with school (grade 8, don't have that much time!), so I haven't been really showing the progress. I'm working on Midland, no doubt, but there's really nothing to show as I'm just doing roof textures and stuff.

I haven't touched Midland in forever! I'd like to get started with it again, but I'd have to restart since I got a Mac! Midland would then have a totally different background, different population, and a different culture to it!

Thoughts?

Maybe think about what you like most about Sketchup cities and then go in that direction?

I've been working on Midland a lot lately, around one a day. There should be an update pretty soon! (end of the week?)

I'm really liking how this version is coming out, this one could stay!

How does sketch-up run on a mac? I recently got one and am considering downloading sketch-up.
