Well... Someone really needs to update both the Austin metropolitan area and the San Antonio metropolitan area pages. Both of them are pittances compared to Houston's and Dallas's pages.

If that Pflugerville estimate is correct, there would now be six municipalities of 50,000+ in Greater Austin.

Austin - 750,000+
Round Rock - 100,000+
Cedar Park - 50,000+
Georgetown - 50,000+
Pflugerville - 50,000+
San Marcos - 50,000+

I'm sure that the estimates are correct. In fact, they're probably on the low side of the possible range (anywhere from 48,000 to 55,000). The city limit signs themselves say something right above 48,000 - I'd drive out there now to see if I were at my father's, but I'm in San Antonio right now. Today is the third day of the semester, and I have the greatest professors.

Within another ten years I'm sure that the Austin area will have three more cities with 50,000 plus: Kyle, Leander, and one of either Taylor or Hutto (perhaps both). The town that will rapidly expand after that will most likely be Manor.

Also, Georgetown is actually smaller than Pflugerville (going off of each cities most recent estimates).

Georgetown is at 50,061.

I'm now looking at the population projections off of Georgetown's website. By their estimate, they show they'll be at 85,000 in five years. It isn't hard to imagine that by 2020 we'll have five cities with over 100,000: Austin, Round Rock, Georgetown, Cedar Park, and Pflugerville.

Pflugerville estimates that in 2020 it will hit 99,000 and in 2025 125,000.

And don't forget about Kyle. It's been the 2nd fastest growing city in the Austin MSA since 2000. Hutto is number one. I didn't research the exact numbers, but Kyle will have gone from ~5k in 2000 to near 30k in 2010.
