Gah not having a ticker for the most recent posts is ticking me off.

Every local section should have it's own moderator in my opinion. It just make things so much easier.

The recent posts list will be coming back.

As for moderation, I check here once in a while and you guys are pretty civil except for the odd post here and there. If there's ever something that needs attention you can feel free to contact me, or if you look down in the bottom right corner of the SSP:London or Ontario main page, there's a list of moderators for Ontario.

Still think having a local Londoner as a moderator would be a good idea, I dunno, just do.

It's been a good year since I've seen any problems in the London forum.

Glad to hear it. I almost feel lost without it.

I guess it wasn't a good fit. The site just seems too big for what we have here. I pushed the site on places such as Skyscraperpage but nothing caught on.

^The London forum section is where I spend perhaps 5% of my SSP time. I am interested in Urban development around the world (and of course locally, in my hometown of Montreal, and in other places that I have lived, visited). Hence SSP.

The Recent Posts List is officially back!

Man, that was a strange experience not having it, but I was surprised that things remained generally active here. I thought things might drop off a bit.

I usually check Skyscrapercity for urban developments outside of Canada. If I were to look on Skyscraperpage where would I start? Any useful links that you know of?

Anyone willing to give Lovelondon another try? (http://www.lovelondon.ca)

Guess the dudes in charge are gonna try to resuscitate it.

------

Looks like the site's getting a makeover.

Edit: Guess I'm one of those dudes now.

Forgot my password for LL. Apparently I have to answer a random question to reset it:

"The mayor of London is Joe_______?"

Easy, no? Yet it keeps telling me my answer is incorrect. What gives?

Apparently passwords for old accounts were reset when a major upgrade too place. Maybe try to send a confirmation email with the password? That might do the trick.

If that doesn't work, let me know. I'm now an administrator on the site so I can help you out further if need be.

I've recently signed up on Love London and have only made 1 post. Things seem to be doing not too bad there (1 post per day maybe?) considering that my expectations were lower. I really like the layout, especailly the top banner!

I'll support it and I hope it succeeds, but I have no problem with what we've got going here either.

The London subforum has been hopping the last 4 months or so.

Yep - it's busier than even Hamilton these days. What happened there? That place used to be busy, now it's pretty dead & quiet. Waterloo is another location that has no activity. This place is taking off - which is excellent

We've mostly migrated to Wonderful Waterloo. LoveLondon has potential to have the same effect.

There's nothing to talk about in Hamilton, and there's raisethehammer.org. The Hamilton local is still busier than here though, usually at least 3 or 4 times as many people viewing it. The Ottawa local is dead lately too. About a year ago there would always be at least 30 people viewing the Hamilton and Ottawa locals, and sometimes 50 or 60.

The posts here are rarely positive, though, so the increase in activity may be good for the forums but may be bad for the city overall. I've said it before and I'll say it again, but most of the posts in the SSP Local London are complaints about:

a) Stupidity of our government
b) Traffic and road conditions
c) Liver and Onions
d) Urban core decay
e) Generally poor planning

Maybe people in Waterloo just have less to complain about?
