well, i believe you, he can be respected as you want but he showed little respect to me. Which flame wars are you talking about? If this is the kind of reply one gets in Edmonton threads, for sure I'll stop posting in them.

Every city has it's own personality. They're like people, you have to decide whether you like them or not.

I spent grew up in Edmonton, and loved it. I moved to Calgary 7 years ago,and I love it, while my affection for Edmonton has faded somewhat

I'd recommend a new user name. You are not garnering any respect at all. Your posts are for the most part nonsensical foolishness that cause more trouble then they are worth. Quit posting the condescending shit, especilly in reference to some of the more established forumers. I doubt I'll see you post count rise above 100 before you are banned/embarassed into retreat.
Have a nice day
PS, do you by chance know a guy that goes by the name TalB?

Well its definitely Calgary's turn in the sun right now and I'm not sure if Edm can ever catch up to Calgary's economic status with this recent oil boom and all the headquarters down in Cowtown. But you never know.. anything can happen. I think Edmonton's time to shine will come a little later. Give a good few years for nanotech and biotech to emerge.. and you'll start seeing Edmonton mentioned alot more. Add to that all the upgraders going up around Edmonton and I see a pretty bright future.

I'm also impressed with Edmonton's growing status for being a 'smart city'.. with all the great education institutions here. Hopefully Edm can model themselves after Boston and try to become sort of a "Boston North"

Anyway wasn't this thread originally about Edmonton? How has it become an Edm Vs Calgary piss match again?

Well walking down Jasper everyday, and seeing it now vs 5 years ago it has come a long way. However in the next couple years as several current projects get finished Jasper and the whole core will be going gang busters as it will have reached a critical mass to draw retailers etc which in of itself becomes a draw. The core is going to be really strong in the near future to go along with the growth we are seeing in the city and the surrounding region. The other issue is that the city has found itself again and that more than anything will propel us further.
