Why does it look like 717 and Concerto are using the exact same glass panels? Aren't these supposed to be two separate projects?

Yeah those are elevators...though you can see actual panels going up on 717, if you look at the lower portion in view in the photo.

10 floors up, 17 to go.

Looking down 9th.

The low-rise on Flower is starting to take shape.

This view will be drastically different in about 12 months.

These renders I pulled off the DeStefano + Partners web site give a good idea of what's going on with the entire site. You can see the elevated pool and park area in the middle that looks to be roughly three stories high. Which explains why there are columns above ground in the middle of the site.

And this one, which shows the low-rise building and it's deconstructivist cube feature. A couple of the diagonal columns are already formed.

I count six for most of the structure, 7 if you count what looks like a rec-room or amenity space on the roof.

I apologize for my ignorance but what exactly is going in right beside this tower? In the picture I can see rebar shooting up.

From the first post in this thread:

Concerto

The foundation has been poured and construction has resumed on developer Sonny Astani's three-tower project at Figueroa and Ninth streets. The 348-unit first phase of the South Park development, which had stalled as Astani sought funding, will include a 30-story tower and a seven-story loft building, and 27,500 square feet of retail. It is expected to be finished in May 2009. A second 30-story tower will break ground by July 2009. Altogether, the project will create 619 market-rate condominiums ranging from 750 to 2,325 square feet. The buildings will wrap around a courtyard holding a 2,510-square-foot park. - Los Angeles Downtown News

So I assume that's the 7 story building, retail, (and parking?) next to the tower.

What??? It's obviously a building of some sort...there is rebar shooting up everywhere. And what's up with you posting 1 sentence responses in 22 different topics in a row on this section? Stop trying to up your post count, it's annoying
