Been a pretty warm Fall so far in southern Ontario and Quebec, especially so in Quebec.

Toronto Pearson has yet to register a high below 10.

However, this will all change by the end of the weekend. Toronto will have highs below 10, and it looks like Montreal will join the freeze list.

Currently 17 and raining, going up to 20 with a scattered showers.

Tomorrow, going up to 22 with a possible humidex reading.

7 day forecast:
20/22/20/11/8/8/7

Surprised to see Kingston still there. It’s on a Great Lake, but close enough to the Canadian shield that they more easily get hit by the cold air coming from the north. The winds were probably favourable the night the rest of Ontario froze. Montreal is on as island so they typically get more delayed there, so that one isn’t really surprising. The rest is coastal cities except for Kelowna.

Montreal and Kingaton have the same average low for late October, +1C. Both would be equally surprising.

A light dusting of snow on Vancouver's local mountains last night. You can see the webcam on Mt. Seymour here:

The only safe cities by the end of the month will be Halifax, Sydney and Charlottetown. Victoria and Vancouver are borderline.

Lots of sun throughout the day with sporadic cloud. It stayed pretty cool, with some periods of gusty winds, but fine overall.

On most years, both Montreal and Kingston freeze before Toronto and Windsor. Montreal does have some surprising years though and it often ends up making it to the final 5 or so. London tends to freeze earlier than all of those due to the lack of large body of water in the immediate vicinity.

My observations from the last few years in this very thread anyway, nothing scientific .

I guess at the outset Montreal would be considered a dark horse but not out of the question.

A rare Wednesday photo from me. Very mild today, overcast.

There is a definite chill in the air around these parts, Snow isnt too far up the hills around the Valley.

Hit a high of 6c today and mostly sunny, and have stayed off the freeze list, but its looking like the clear skies tonight with dip the mercury to around -3c.

Nice temperatures lasting till Saturday then they go back to normal which was inevitable. Good weekend to head to the Annapolis Valley.

Sunny and 13C in Moncton at 9 AM, going up to 18C this afternoon. 17C tomorrow and 22C on Saturday, both with sunny weather. Since we have had out first frost, I presume this can be considered Indian Summer (if this term can still be considered politically correct).....
