while I still like the idea of this project.. trying to make it be too many things is sure way to make it lousy at all of them.. simplicity is king!

I guess first question should be, what kind of park do we need?
with the river valley blocks away, do we need a nature park?
with the legislature pools blocks away, do we need another water park?
IMO, best fit would be an open square/plaza over the block, existing buildings grandfathered. lots of flexible space, have big big patios, even beer gardens in the summer
anchor the park around a large semi-interactive public art piece and call it a win!
