It is scary though that Trump's actions could potentially harm our city's current boom, hopefully he will realize the integrated nature of the auto industry in the US and Canada and leave it alone.

He has an American accent for sure. Tony Feria is a professor at the University of Windsor. And it appears as though he was raised in the U.S.. Here is his bio:

Dr. A. J. Faria has a Ph.D. in Marketing (1972) from Michigan State University. Dr. Faria has worked in industry for Chrysler Corporation, the Sunshine Biscuit Company, Davidson Bros. (Wholesaling) Inc. and the Tulsa Oil Company. Faria has taught at Michigan State University, Wayne State University, Georgia Southern University, Lawrence Technological University and is currently Professor Emeritus after serving as Chairman of the Department of Marketing in the Odette School of Business for over twenty-five years. Dr. Faria currently serves as Co-Director of the Office of Automotive and Vehicle Research in the Odette School of Business at the University of Windsor. Dr. Faria has served as a consultant to over 70 corporations, numerous government departments, and has authored reports for the Automotive Parts Manufacturers’ Association of Canada for over twenty years. Tony has worked on Economic Development Studies for over a dozen municipal governments across Ontario (several of which have won awards for excellence in research) and consistently is engaged in numerous automotive consulting projects (often under government grants) for automotive trade associations and automotive parts companies. These studies generally encompass the development of marketing strategies for auto industry expansion and expansion into new industries. Dr. Faria has authored ten textbooks (one of which is the second biggest selling marketing text in Canada), ten chapters in other texts, and over 200 journal articles and conference papers and has won twelve Conference Best Paper Awards. Tony Faria gives numerous automotive industry talks and does over 300 media interviews each year on the automotive industry. In addition, Tony was the recipient of the Senior Researcher of the Year Award from the Odette School of Business in 2004, the Excellence in Research Award from the University of Windsor in 2006, the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Association for Business Simulation and Experiential Learning in 2007, and the Kevin Doyle Media Services Award in 2009.
