Thank you for posting the link Urbannizer. It is very exciting to see all of the new developments going on in Houston. Man, Houstons skyline is going to be stunning!
Mentioned in a recent article. As I said before, Chevron will build downtown.

The California-based oil giant has been expanding in Houston. It had plans to start construction this year on a 50-story office tower near its downtown campus, but recently put the building on hold. The company has said it still plans to build the tower.
Colbert did not address the project during the panel, but when asked about where the company will be in 10 years, she said it is committed to downtown.
"We're excited about the infrastructure and renewal projects in downtown," she said.

There are at least 25 projects underway that are 10 floors or more, and at least 50 in the pipeline. It's not certain they're all going to break ground, but several on the "Proposed" list are already in site prep and could start rising this year.

I was hoping for a bit more of an innovated design. A design which would be iconic for this area of Downtown. At the very least the facade could be of a different design and pattern than Chevron's current two towers.
Height wise... HELLS YEAH!!!

On the contrary, I like how it seems to complete a morph of sorts from the oblong form of the first, to the more quadrilaterally conceived middle tower.
In 1972, I had an old brochure for Shell's Plaza Del Oro development, which was supposed to build skyscrapers, apartments, hotels and other buildings right at the northwest crook of I-610 and 288. Needless to say it never developed quite that way...

New (old) information pegs the groundbreaking for June 2015 (based on a go/no-go decision in March 2015) for a building with 46 floors and 1.7 million sf of space. That's off the HAIF site.
