Sorry Sam stealing your thing.

On August 20th Chicago planning commission has 3 high rises (good ones) on the agenda.

- 130 N Franklin, the best office tower that could come this cycle IMO, nothing has changed for this one.

-Viveroy Hotel,18 stories great design.

-Ed Debevic' (640 wells), love the zigzag boxes.

It looks like the 11 story, 50 unit building planned for Diversey (the Lakeview side, not the Lincoln Park one) is also on the plan commisions list. For a refresher on the project, here's the DNAInfo link on the project: http://www.dnainfo.com/chicago/20140...ojects-collide. According to the diagram, the top floor's elevation will be 120 feet, plus the mechanical roof the building should be over 135 feet. Not sure if it still counts as a highrise since it meets the height requirement but it's 11 stories.

Also, did anyone here attend the community meeting announced a few days ago about the planned highrise at 710 W. Grand?

I updated the page 1 rendering to show the new version - looks awesome, and I can't wait to see this one rise.

Wasn't able to make it, but here's images from the development website:

I guess it's not quite a high rise, so this post can be moved to gen dev. Maybe the first page of gen dev should list all the TODish stuff around town?

200 N Michigan

Thanks for the pics above, Harry. I think this is going to turn out to be an absolute stunner of a design. Thus far I think the façade is shaping up fantastic thus far. I'm a little surprised that it didn't come closer to 73 E Lake's Height....there's some perspective issues for sure, but it's definitely shorter.......

710 W Grand

Thanks for posting those, LVDW. I think that looks very nice. Love how B+L is jumping enthusiastically into the neighborhood TOD trend as far as designing a lot of these projects.....

1333 S Wabash

And, speaking of Brininstool + Lynch, progress is really evident at 1333 S Wabash. Putting big forms in place earlier today for the core. If I had to guess, I'd say financing was probably just secured on this one in the last several weeks. as they were in a super slow motion phase between when permits were issued in either late Jan or early Feb going through at least first part of July.....now it appears to truly be game on here.....

Ed Debevic's Tower

In addition to it being on next week's Plan Commission agenda, Jim Letchinger of JDL was recently cited or quoted in online industry rag Bisnow confirming a 2015 launch, saying it's planned for November construction start. So it does seem like this and Gino's will be rising concurrently directly across the street from one another.....

Damn, it's boom time.

Or, this could just be the suburbs from 1950-present: the new norm.

I live near No. 9 Walton so passed by it yesterday. They appear to be working decently quickly on this one. Foundation appears to be dug out now. I unfortunately got caught in a cab on the same road when they were transporting all their backhoes away from the site. It seemed that they were all being taken away. I think we'll see construction of the foundation/core start next week or so.

Looks good to me. I love that all of the parking and loading is off of the alley, and all the street facing frontage on all floors is human occupied.

It's just a shame they didn't include that last 33' lot at the alley corner, hopefully that doesn't end up sitting as vacant/parking for the long term now.

Next is under construction. It's like on the second floor. 750 N Hudson seems to be, too. You can see drilling equipment from the L.

Yep. This was snapped just a few hours ago (8/15/2015). I wish I would have gotten a pic of the church being demolished near there too. Seriously looks like some of the Roman ruins I saw on Palatine Hill in Rome and near Ephesus in Turkey.

I though 1345 S. Wabash wrapped up a bit ago? Can anyone please confirm that building is done?

^ Yes 1345 has been complete for several months.

It's full speed ahead now for the Lend Lease crew next door at 1333.....
