The T&T is reporting today that the Chocolate River Station has secured another tenant and will now be fully leased.

La Spa will be opening a second location in the building.

The March agenda for the Town of Riverview Planning Advisory Commission includes a request for a new 12 unit apartment building at the corner of Coverdale Road and Hopewell Street.

OK, rereading the document, I guess it is a request to modify the building so that it has 13 units rather than 12. My bad....

Clayton Developments finally buys land from Moncton G&CC

According to the T&T, the lands immediately to the south of the Moncton Golf & Country Club have finally been sold to Clayton Developments of Halifax. The hold-up was related to a legal dispute over an existing right of way through the property. The sale of this 82 acre parcel of land will allow this subdivision to proceed.



The development will include:
- 149 single unit dwellings
- 23 townhouse condominium clusters
- 17 freehold townhouse bungalows
- 234 apartment units

Assuming three residents per unit (not unreasonable), this development could boost the town's population by more than 1,200 people. The municipal tax assessment could increase by $40-50M.

The development will be fully walkable, will integrate with the multi function trail on Gunningsville Blvd and will be convenient to the anticipated retail cluster at the corner of Gunningsville and the proposed Bridgedale Blvd.

Construction will begin this spring, with the first component being the extension of Pinewood Road to Gunningsville Blvd.

I see that an $800K contract has been signed to allow for renovations to the Immaculate Heart of Mary RC Church in Riverview.

This is the prominent modernistic church next to the town hall.

The Carriage Hill Estates subdivision in east Riverview is about to see a major expansion...

The additions to the development will include:

- 92 single unit dwellings
- 336 semi detached homes
- 140 townhouses
- 294 apartment units.

When you factor this in with the Clayton Developments subdivision that will be breaking ground this year, this means that the Gunningsville/East Riverview area will see 1285 new housing units!

Just curious where you got this info! Do you know anymore as to when how soon they plan on going ahead?

No secret source here. I read it in the newspaper.

I think construction will start this year. The development could roll out as quickly as the next five years, but depending on market conditions, completion could take considerably longer.

It will be called "The Fairways".

Construction will begin in May, with the extension of Pinewood to Gunningsville Blvd.

Read in the paper this morning, the above plan was approved by Town Council last night.

They mentioned setting aside 39,011 Sq. Meters of land for public purposes as well, in the area where Riverview plans to put in a future park.

I walk back in that area and they have the land cleared back in some places all the way to the sewer line that Riverview put in a couple of years ago (this is also where the future Bridgedale Blvd. will exist when it's built).

I can definitely see where they have enough space there for the units they are talking about.

There was also an article about the council meeting discussing the installation of traffic lights at the intersection of Old Coach Road and Hillsborough Road. This is to accommodate the new K-8 school and from my experience make it easier to pull out of there in the morning. They also plan to widen the road there as well which increased the cost of the project significantly.

I can in the future see another set of lights needing to be installed somewhere at one of the roads leading out of Carriage Hill. Making a left out of there in the morning is challenging, even a right turn from the opposite side of the street can take some time as the traffic can be lined up 40-50 cars in a row at times.

It will be part of a four building apartment complex with about 100 units:

Any idea where I can find info like this for 2012? I'm wondering what they are building on Coverdale across from Petro Canada, but there is nothing in any of the 2013 meetings.

Sorry, I don't really know. The Riverview PAC is a new entity, having taken over from the GMPDC when it dissolved. There would likely be a reference to what you want to know in the town council minutes, but I didn't keep tabs on that last year. They are probably available online....

Pita Pit

I have a very good source aka the owner of the Pita Pit on Mtn. Rd. and they plan on opening a Pita pit in riverview this summer.

The construction across from the petro-can is going to be a strip mall, but no word on tenants yet.

Welcome to the forums New Slax, but you in the minority here in terms of your info regarding the new development across from the Petro-Can at the Trites/Coverdale intersection.

I was intrigued by the confusion, so I drove out there after work today and there is a sign up on the lot advertising a retail strip mall to be called Lakeside Plaza.

This is a rather odd name given the fact that Lake Petitcodiac doesn't really exist anymore. Wishful thinking?
