Its going to do wonders for the Island. Some density distributed to the west side of Manhattan as the East is simply to dense. A mass of skyscrapers that will hopefully be continues from east to west. Somewhat what you see on 42nd street. Only applies from 34th and up.
One major outcome of the West Clinton Rezoning would be the imposition of height limits, in an area where developers can currently construct towers of unlimited height.
We're not talking about an area consisting of large parking lots and open space.

Yeah, at least in the near-term, there is no way they will allow big highrises in the heart of the Clinton area. There are some sites, though, that can be developed with towers because of exceptions (urban renewal land, variances, and the like).

Yes, Coach is moving out to its new tower. You can see a little detail on the building in the photos above, but other than that, it's an eyesore.

It's had better days. The street façade is beautiful, but it was meant to come down. Don't get me wrong-- if I could pick the building up and move it, I'd put it in Queens or Brooklyn right away.

I don't think it's decorative enough to be worth saving, personally, was just pointing out that there's a decent looking side to it. I'm not all that fond of the solid simple concrete on the bottom.
